IDEA is the result of a long and industrious research, pursued by Serramenti Pisetta for the purpose of realising a new window typology, that could boast innovative performances and aesthetic qualities.

Both preliminary and final tests on IDEA were realised in collaboration with the IVALSA-CNR Laboratorio Serramenti e Facciate Continue. Therefore, IDEA, is a tested and reliable product: it passed strict laboratory tests for air-permeability, water-tightness, wind-load resistance, thus proving to be a solid and high-performance window.

IDEA fully meets thermal and acoustic standards, being a wood window equipped with a natural thermal insulation: a discontinuity between internal and external shutter is not provided by an insulating synthetic material, as is often the case, but by a 4-mm eco-friendly air space.

IDEA has no glazing bead: its innovative design is thus characterised by gentle, simple and essential contours.
IDEA also stands out for its 45° joint, aesthetically pleasant inside and effective outside as, unlike traditional windows, no wooden transversal sections are visible in any edge. This joint system is a patent.

Throughout the development process of IDEA, special attention was paid to the features related to thermal transmittance. By virtue of the possibility of mounting an insulating glass up to 52 mm (Ug 0.5 W/m²K) and of the innovative design of its own contours, IDEA is suitable to be installed in a CasaClima Gold context.

Technical specifications

  • Window thickness 85mm.
  • Possibility of installing 20mm glass (Ug 1.1 W/m²K ) and 48mm triple glass (Ug 0.5 W/m²K).
  • Duct spacer in different typologies; use of the new “super space”.
  • Serial double gasket on the window frame with triple ledge with dynamic decompression chamber.
  • Ironware with a 13mm wheelbase, a 130kg capacity and 4 anti-burglary locks.
